Vinicius Junior, who opened the scoring in Real Madrid’s win against Levante, spoke to the club’s official television channel, revealing Luka Modric, now at AC Milan, taught him the technique for his stunning goal.
Vinicius Junior explained his goal in Real Madrid’s 4-1 victory over Levante, a lovely trivela. He revealed that his former teammate, Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, whom he says they “miss”, taught him how to execute that type of shot.
“Luka Modric taught me; we miss him. I’m very happy with the match. We’ve done very well from the start in pressing and in possession. If we play like this, we’re always going to win,” he told ‘Real Madrid TV’.
“Hopefully, I can continue scoring goals like that. This is one of the most beautiful I’ve scored. A good goal, and I’m happy with that,” added Vinicius Junior, who, with Tuesday’s goal, has now scored seven goals against Levante in eight appearances. “A very difficult ground, but whenever I come here, I score goals. Looking ahead to the derby, we’ve won every match, and we want to continue like this. We’re really looking forward to the derby. Now, it’s time to rest and enjoy the victory, and hopefully, we can win on Saturday,” he noted.
Finally, Vinicius Junior highlighted the keys to Real Madrid’s strong start to the season, with seven wins in seven matches – six in the league and one in the Champions League. “The defence, the unity, and the teamwork. If we continue like this, we can achieve a lot this season,” he concluded.
