Speaking after the ‘Clasico’, Aurelien Tchouameni spoke to the media, attributing the victory directly to Xabi Alonso. The Frenchman believes the Real Madrid coach did “an incredible job with the match strategy” against Barcelona.
Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni highlighted Xabi Alonso’s role in the ‘Clasico’ triumph, stressing that he did “an incredible job with the match strategy.”
“We all fought together; we know that against this team we have to give everything, and the whole team played well. In the end, we deserved this victory,” he stated.
“I think the manager did an incredible job with the match strategy. We did everything we wanted to, and we pressed hard together. When we won the ball back, we created chances, and we’re happy with what we did,” he added.
Tchouameni praised the atmosphere at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the support they felt from the stands. “With the Bernabeu like that, it’s easier. Physically, it was difficult to endure, but with the support of the fans, we did a tremendous job, and they make it easier with this atmosphere at home,” he lauded.
Delighted with the win, Tchouameni remained grounded. “We knew it was a key match for us to gain confidence and continue in La Liga. We have done an incredible job, we have won, but it is only three points, and we have many matches to win. We will continue like this.”
Finally, he pointed out that the victory against Barcelona buries the poor image left in the derby at the Metropolitano, Real Madrid’s only defeat of the season.
“Everyone knows that we were not at our level against Atletico, but that is the story of one match, and in the end, it is the only one we have lost; we have won the rest. Now we have to continue because we can do great things this season,” he concluded.
