Kylian Mbappe has set his sights firmly on greatness at Real Madrid, opening up on life inside the dressing room, what it takes to become a legend, and his bond with the fans.
Speaking in an interview with Spanish daily ‘AS’, excerpts of which had previously surfaced, Kylian Mbappe left no doubt about his soaring ambitions: “If you want to be part of football history, one day you have to play for Real Madrid,” he asserted.
“I expected the best club in the world to receive a lot of warmth and feel the passion of Madridismo right across the globe. When you are a Real Madrid player, you step onto another tier, up to a whole new level,” stressed the forward, who harboured dreams of donning the famous white shirt from a young age: “Everyone close to me knew that, at some point, I would want to go to Madrid. There wasn’t the slightest doubt that I wanted to come,” he said.
Addressing his departure from the French capital, he added: “The final year at PSG was tough. And not everything is known. It is part of my life’s journey. I don’t think that, two years on, I should criticise anyone. It was 100% difficult, but it belongs in the past and was just another step I had to take to achieve my dream,” he concluded.
