Szczesny, Gerard Martin, Balde, Gavi, Brian Farinas and Gabriel Jesus will remain in Barcelona during the international break and enjoy nine days off.
FC Barcelona return to training this Tuesday with a severely depleted squad following the departure of 17 internationals to their respective national sides. According to ‘Mundo Deportivo’, the players who were not called up will continue working at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper until Friday, before embarking on a rest period from 26 September to 4 October.
Among the players remaining in Barcelona are Szczesny, Gerard Martín, Balde, Gavi, Brian Fariñas and Gabriel Jesus. Meanwhile, injured quartet Joan Garcia, Christensen, De Jong and Roony Bardghji are expected to continue reporting to the club’s facilities to work through their respective recovery programmes.
The squad are scheduled to reconvene on 5 October, initially still without their international contingent. Hansi Flick will then step up preparations for the clash with Getafe, slated for 10 October at the Spotify Camp Nou, following an intensely demanding start to the campaign.
