Real Betis and Ceuta released a joint statement on Wednesday afternoon announcing the postponement of Thursday’s charity fixture at La Cartuja.
“Both clubs have taken this step with the aim of reinforcing the social and charitable nature behind the initiative. They will explore staging the match on a new date under conditions that bring it closer to the people of Ceuta whilst maximising its charitable impact,” read the joint release from Real Betis and AD Ceuta FC.
Both clubs also confirmed that “the funds raised via the virtual ticket scheme will go, as planned, to Caritas Ceuta”.
“Both entities regret any inconvenience caused, thank the supporters for their understanding, and reaffirm their commitment to staging a fixture that becomes a genuine celebration of community, sport and solidarity between the ‘Caballa’ and ‘Betico’ fanbases,” the statement concluded.
