Marcus Rashford has claimed he is finally finding stability at Barcelona after years in what he described as an “inconsistent environment” at Manchester United.
Speaking to ITV Sport, the England international admitted he feels settled in Spain but is still striving for greater consistency in his performances.
After what he perceived as unfair treatment at Old Trafford, Rashford appears to be rediscovering his spark. In his first spell outside England, he has quickly earned the trust of Hansi Flick, becoming a regular starter for Barcelona and featuring prominently in key Champions League fixtures.
“I need to contribute more with my game and I’m trying to do that,” he told ITV Sport. “I want to be at my best — not just occasionally, but as often as possible.”
The forward did not shy away from criticising his former club. “I feel like I was in an inconsistent environment for a long time, which made things even harder,” he said, reflecting on his turbulent years at United, where he alternated between seasons of 20-30 goals and others where he struggled to reach double figures.
“To be consistent in anything — not just sport — you need stability in your life and in the way you work. Throughout my career, I’ve experienced a lot of changes, but now I have to look forward. That’s something I want to correct and improve to reach my best more often,” he added.
So far, Rashford’s Barcelona chapter is showing promise. The 27-year-old has played 619 minutes across ten appearances, starting seven times and contributing three goals and five assists.
Before the international break, he had either scored or assisted in four consecutive matches, a sign that his best version may be returning.
