The Blues ramp up their transfer activity as they close in on a deal for the Spanish defender.
Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign 28-year-old left-back Pep Chavarria following a string of impressive displays for Rayo Vallecano, according to reports from journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The deal has been structured around a fixed fee of 19 million euros, with a further two million euros in performance-related add-ons included in the final package.
According to Romano, Chavarria is scheduled to travel in the coming hours to undergo his medical examinations before putting pen to paper on his contract with the Premier League side.
The final paperwork between Chelsea and Rayo Vallecano is expected to be completed tonight, officially sanctioning the Spanish defender’s move to Stamford Bridge.
