Carlo Ancelotti gave his first list of called-up players as Brazil coach. The Italian coach recovered for the ‘Selecao’ an old acquaintance as Casemiro. Attackers Neymar and Rodrygo were the main absentees.

After ending an era at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti began a new one at the Brazilian national team. The Italian coach, in his first great moment as coach of the five-time world champions, announced on Monday his first list of players called up for the qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay.

In it, the main novelty is the return of Casemiro. The Manchester United midfielder, whom Ancelotti already coached at Real Madrid, returns to the national team, with which he has not played since October 2023 in a match against Uruguay in which the ‘Selecao’ lost 2-0.

Alongside Casemiro is also Vinicius, who will be the great offensive reference of the team as he has been during the years of the coach’s time at the Santiago Bernabeu. Among the absences, the most notable are those of Rodrygo and Neymar, although Ancelotti himself explained that these and others, such as Endrick, are due to recovery times due to injuries.
