As reported by journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Franco Mastantuono passed his medical examination with Madrid and signed his new contract with ‘Los Blancos’ until 2031. The striker will play the Club World Cup with River and will start working under the orders of Xabi Alonso on August 15th.
Mastantuono’s move to Real Madrid is definitive. The talented Argentine player, trained in River’s youth academy, signed on Wednesday the contract that will link him to the Spanish team until 2031, as reported by Cesar Luis Merlo, a journalist specialized in the transfer market.
In addition, the player previously passed the relevant medical examination with a club to which he will not arrive until August 15th. That is the date on which the player from Azul will arrive at the Madrid side, in a team that is beginning a new stage under the leadership of Xabi Alonso.
The Spanish coach has been fundamental in Mastantuono’s move, since his call to the attacker was key to his decision to join Madrid. PSG, who were expected to land him, were left out of the race at the moment when the ‘Merengue’ team entered the scene.
Mastantuono will become the most expensive sale in Argentine football. The white team will pay the 45 million euros of the termination clause, an amount to which will be added another 15 million euros for tax purposes.
The most immediate objective of the Argentine gem is to play in the Club World Cup with the River shirt. It will be his last service with the ‘Millonario’ shirt before heading to Madrid. On August 14th he will become of age and just one day later he will join the ‘Merengue’ squad.
