In doing so, the Parc des Princes side position themselves as favorites to qualify for the Round of 16 as group winners, as Botafogo and Seattle Sounders start as underdogs.
The Parisians went into halftime with a two-goal lead thanks in part to a great Vitinha, who dominated the midfield from the opening whistle as well as scoring the second goal before the break.
