Ansu Fati unveiled at Monaco after sealing loan move from Barcelona with option to buy. The Spanish forward hopes to rediscover consistency and put his injury nightmare behind him.
Ansu Fati is turning the page on his Barcelona career and focusing on the present with Monaco, who have offered him an opportunity to rediscover his elite form. The player addressed the media this Thursday during his unveiling, explaining his reasons for choosing the Principality and highlighting the quality of Ligue 1, where he will now compete every weekend.
“Honestly, I believe changes are for the better. I had my experience at Brighton. Many think it was bad, but it was good. I started well, but I had an injury and couldn’t find consistency. Hopefully, it will be different here, and I can have that and participate if the manager sees fit,” the winger stated.
“I try to be the best I can be, and I believe in God. Ultimately, what happens to me is something I can’t control, but I can minimise the risks, and that’s what I do. I try to work as hard as possible to be the best I can be. If it doesn’t happen, I keep fighting, and I’m sure I’ll find my moment again and enjoy this,” he affirmed.
He did not downplay playing in Ligue 1, despite it not being as highly regarded abroad: “It’s one of the best leagues right now. We can see that in the fact that the last Champions League winner is from here (Ligue 1). All leagues are different, and there are talented players here.”
On whether Lamine Yamal had sent him a message: “Yes, we’re always together in Barcelona. I know he loves me a lot and wishes me the best. It’s mutual, and the truth is almost the whole team has wished me luck. They are good people who I have been with for a long time at La Masia. I wish them the best, especially Lamine.”
