Real Madrid have stopped all operations to bring in a midfield player. The only one they like and for whom they would make an effort is Manchester City’s Rodri Hernandez.
Alvaro Carreras may have been Real Madrid’s last signing for the 2025-26 season. Real Madrid have already made four signings (Alexander-Arnold, Huijsen, Mastantuono and Carreras himself) and are putting an end to their transfer window for the time being.
Only one name can put an end to that decision, as reported by ‘SER’. The only name for which they would be willing to make a further economic effort is Rodri Hernandez, the reigning Ballon d’Or and Manchester City player.
Xabi Alonso has asked the club to make a further effort. He wants both a midfielder to cover the departure of Luka Modric and an extra centre-back, given what he saw at the Club World Cup. But, for the moment, Real Madrid have put the brakes on the operation.
The high price at which players currently move makes the Spanish side does not want to make an economic overexertion. At the moment, the only one they like is Rodri and the Spanish international is not for sale.
167 million spent
Real Madrid, with the Club World Cup, have already made several signings for the tournament in the United States. In total they have spent 167 million on the four signings they have made, including Alvaro Carreras on Monday.
For Dean Huijsen, a first-choice starter from day one, ‘Los Blancos’ paid 62.5 million euros to Bournemouth. In second place is Carreras, who has arrived for 50 million, five more than Mastantuono. Finally, despite arriving on a free transfer, Real Madrid paid Liverpool 10 million euros so that Alexander-Arnold could play in the Club World Cup.
