Atletico Madrid begins a new stage for the 2025-26 season. One of his signings for the new season is Matteo Ruggeri, who on Sunday gave his first words as a ‘Colchonero’ player on the official channels of the Spanish side.
“I know that he has come to a team with players of a great level. When I think that I’m going to play with Griezmann, Julian and others… it gives me goosebumps. If I think of all the sacrifices my parents and I have made… it’s amazing. I’m proud to play with teammates of this level,” the Italian began.
“I am very happy to be here. It’s a dream come true to start this adventure with this fantastic team. When I heard about the possibility of coming to Atletico, I was very happy because I didn’t expect it at all. I was on cloud nine when I got the news. It didn’t take me long to say yes,” said the winger.
On the subject of Simeone, Ruggeri praised his new coach to the skies: “I’m very proud to play under Simeone. I think he is one of the best coaches there is. I hope to be ready for Monday.
