Real Madrid have announced through their official channels the departure of striker Alvaro Rodriguez to Elche. The Uruguayan, for whom ‘Los Blancos’ keep 50% of his rights, signs until 2029 with Elche.
Another farewell at Madrid. After the departures of Modric, Vallejo and Lucas Vazquez, it is now the turn of Alvaro Rodriguez. The Uruguayan striker, on loan at Getafe last season, is leaving for Elche as a transfer and not on loan, as had been rumoured in recent hours. The ‘Merengues’ are keeping 50% of his transfer rights.
“Elche has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of Alvaro Rodriguez to the club. The Uruguayan striker becomes a new Elche CF player and signs a contract for four seasons that binds him to the club until June 2029,” reads the statement released by the Elche club.
Luxury reinforcement for a newly promoted team to La Liga. The team coached by Eder Sarabia has shown the most interest in signing the ‘Toro’, who will try to deploy all his physical potential and his aim in the penalty area in favour of his new team.
Alvaro Rodriguez, aware that he did not fit into Madrid’s plans, is taking on a new challenge in his career after his time in the youth ranks at the club – he arrived at the ‘Merengues’ youth academy in 2020 at the age of 16 – and at Getafe on loan. “It’s my moment,” said the Uruguayan in the announcement. Last season, the striker scored 3 goals and 1 assist in 26 games.
