FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres said after Barcelona’s late 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League that they should not view the match as a painful defeat but as a learning experience.
FC Barcelona suffered their first setback in this Champions League. The Catalans succumbed to Paris Saint-Germain after a late goal from Goncalo Ramos gave the Parisian team victory at Montjuic.
Ferran Torres, who opened the scoring against the Ligue 1 side, said after the match that this defeat would serve as a learning experience and show them what they need to improve for the rest of the season.
“Painful defeat? No, it’s more like a small learning experience. If there’s something positive we can take from this match, it’s the awareness of what we can improve and change, and through that we become stronger,” he told reporters.
“The first half was positive. I think we knew how to start the match well, but in the second half we lost a bit of organization. Our physical performance dropped in the second half, but in any case, today is a day for learning, where we will review the mistakes and work on correcting them,” added the Spanish forward.
“In the end, we need to be more decisive, as I said, we were low on energy, and in the end we lost the match. But we’re in October, and we’re not at our best physical levels,” he concluded.
