FC Barcelona have issued a measured statement in response to the suspension of their match against Villarreal in Miami, a decision they “respect and accept, just as they accepted and respected the decision to play the match in the first place”.
Barcelona have released a concise and neutral statement regarding the suspension of their La Liga fixture against Villarreal in Miami: “FC Barcelona respect and accept the decision to cancel the match against Villarreal in Miami, scheduled for matchday 17 of La Liga, just as it accepted and respected the initial decision to play the match”.
Despite this, club officials were keen to echo the words of Javier Tebas, lamenting the missed opportunity for La Liga to explore new avenues for improvement.
“Barcelona regret the lost opportunity to expand the competition’s image in a strategic market with the potential for growth and resource generation for the benefit of all”.
Furthermore, the club’s statement also “express gratitude for the unwavering support and affection received from our fans in the United States and deeply regret that they will be deprived of the opportunity to witness an official match in the country”.
