Marcus Rashford, currently on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, has expressed his willingness to remain with the Catalan club beyond next summer.
The English forward has scored five goals and provided five assists in the early stages of the season, showcasing his best form in nearly three years.
“Of course,” Rashford told ESPN when asked whether he would consider staying at Barcelona after his loan ends. “I’m really enjoying my time at this club, and I think for anyone who loves football, Barcelona is one of the most historic clubs in the world. As a player, it’s an honour,” he said.
“People forget this, but I’ve spent 23 years of my life at Manchester United. Sometimes you just need a change. I think that’s what’s happened to me, and right now I’m enjoying every moment,” he added.
Rashford had fallen out of favour at Manchester United under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, which prompted a loan move to Aston Villa in the second half of last season.
Under Unai Emery, his career experienced a revival, but the Birmingham club were unable to secure his services permanently, leading to another loan switch — this time to Barcelona.
The 27-year-old forward remains under contract with Manchester United until 2028, meaning that if Barcelona wish to keep him permanently next summer, they will have to enter negotiations with the Premier League club.
