The Disciplinary Committee has proposed a £3,500 fine for an Real Oviedo fan who racially abused Marcus Rashford of Barcelona, calling him a “n**rata”.
The State Commission against Violence, Racism, and Intolerance in Sport has proposed a fine of £3,500 for a Real Oviedo supporter for directing racist insults at Marcus Rashford.
The Commission proposed the sanction after the fan called the forward “n**rata” during the match between the two sides on 25th September. La Liga identified the images on social media and filed a complaint with the National Police, a file that was subsequently analysed by the Organisational Control Unit (UCO) to identify the alleged perpetrator.
In Wednesday’s statement, sanctions were also proposed for 22 fans for clashes that occurred before the Copa del Rey final on 26 April.
Members of the ‘Boixos Nois’ (Barcelona) and ‘United Family’ (Betis) ultra groups were involved in incidents in the Plaza de San Francisco in Seville on the afternoon before the match between Real Oviedo and Barcelona. Around 80 ultras attacked National Police officers deployed in the city centre, throwing tables, chairs and other street furniture at the officers and causing damage to businesses in the area.
As a result, requests have been made for fines of €5,000 and a 12-month ban from sports venues for serious offences.
On 29 September, the National Police also prevented a “large-scale brawl between radical fans of Atlético Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt”. The supporters had arranged to fight each other through social media the day before the Champions League match between the two teams.
The operation resulted in 17 people being identified and, more importantly, prevented serious disturbances.
Finally, the Disciplinary Committee has agreed to declare the following matches as high-risk:
- Real Jaen – Linares Deportivo (Jaén, 9th November 2025; 17:00; Segunda RFEF)
- Real Betis Balompie – Olympique de Lyon (Seville, 6th November 2025; 21:00; Europa League)
- Deportivo de La Coruña – Cultural Leonesa (La Coruna, 8th November 2025; 18:30; Spanish second tier)
