Hansi Flick could be set to welcome back key players as Barcelona prepare to face Athletic Bilbao in their first match after the international break.
Goalkeeper Joan Garcia and winger Raphinha are both on track to return, while Pedri’s comeback may have to wait a little longer.
Barcelona have received encouraging updates from their medical department during the break, with several injured players progressing well in their recoveries.
Joan Garcia, who suffered an injury on 25 September, has been training with the group for several days as he builds up match fitness.
With Wojciech Szczesny covering between the posts, the coaching staff have opted not to rush him, but the 24-year-old should be available for selection when Athletic visit Montjuic.
Raphinha’s recovery is also moving in the right direction. The Brazilian forward continues to train individually but is expected to rejoin the group next Tuesday, according to Mundo Deportivo. If there are no setbacks, he should be fit for the weekend fixture against Athletic.
Pedri, however, is likely to need a little more time. Although his return is anticipated later this month, the clash with Athletic may come too soon. The Champions League meeting with Chelsea appears to be a more realistic target for his comeback.
