Real Madrid held their second training session of the week on Tuesday as preparations continued for Sunday’s trip to Elche, but Franco Mastantuono, Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni all remained on the sidelines.
The trio trained individually but still have a chance of making the squad for the visit to the Martinez Valero. All three continued with tailored recovery work on the pitches at Valdebebas, aiming to return in time for the La Liga matchday 13 fixture.
Madrid will, however, regain five internationals who either did not travel with their national teams or returned early.
Dean Huijsen (Spain), Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga (France), Fede Valverde (Uruguay) and Thibaut Courtois (Belgium) all followed personalised plans and are expected to be available for Xabi Alonso this weekend.
Mbappe, who had discomfort in his right ankle, and Camavinga, who picked up muscular issues, missed France’s second November fixture against Azerbaijan.
Huijsen also returned early from Spain duty due to a minor muscle overload, but did not suffer an injury and should be fit for the league match.
Courtois, recovering from a right adductor problem, and Valverde, sidelined from Uruguay’s friendlies with a semimembranosus issue, are also on track to feature barring setbacks.
Meanwhile, eight other first-team players remain away on international duty — Vinicius, Rodrygo and Militao with Brazil; Jude Bellingham with England; Brahim Diaz with Morocco; Arda Guler with Turkey; and David Alaba with Austria — and will not rejoin the group until Friday.
According to the club’s official website, Tuesday’s session began with gym work before the squad moved outside for “demanding physical exercises”, finishing with high-intensity running drills.
