Rodrygo Goes faces a fitness race for the trip to Mestalla after suffering an overload in his right leg. Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rudiger, however, trained on Friday and could feature against Valencia.
Real Madrid completed another training session on Friday, where manager Alvaro Arbeloa welcomed the good news of seeing Dani Carvajal and German defender Antonio Rudiger participate fully with their teammates. Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes, however, did not train with the group.
The attacker is carrying an overload in his right leg and, according to club sources speaking to ‘EFE’, remains a doubt for Real Madrid’s visit to Mestalla this Sunday at 21:00 CET.
This marks the second consecutive session Rodrygo has missed ahead of the match against Valencia. His compatriot Vinicius Junior is unavailable due to an accumulation of yellow cards, while Jude Bellingham and Eder Militao remain sidelined with injuries.
Conversely, Austrian defender David Alaba, who missed Thursday’s session due to a flu bug causing fever, is back with the group and should be available. Carvajal and Rudiger, who trained individually on Thursday, also rejoined full group dynamics on Friday without any issues.
During the session, Arbeloa focused the work on possession and pressing drills, alongside the usual finishing practice and small-sided games. This marks the final stretch of his first week with only one match, having taken charge of Real Madrid’s first team on 12th January.
The manager highlighted this as a crucial period of the season, beginning with the trip to Valencia at Mestalla and extending into next week. This stretch precedes the Champions League round of 16 qualifiers against Benfica, in addition to their La Liga commitments.
