Real Madrid trained on Wednesday ahead of their league fixture against Real Sociedad, with Kylian Mbappe a notable absentee as the Frenchman worked out in the gym away from the main squad.
Argentine Franco Mastantuono rejoined the main group for Real Madrid’s second training session of the week, ahead of their league clash against Real Sociedad. He has now recovered from a thigh knock. French star Kylian Mbappe, however, missed the session as a precaution.
The Real Madrid squad, fresh from a team dinner on Tuesday evening, returned to training hours later. While Mastantuono’s return offered a positive note, Kylian Mbappe remained absent. The French forward, a crucial attacking figure for the team, stayed within the facilities at the Valdebebas training complex.
Kylian Mbappe completed a session away from the main group, combining gym work with physiotherapy. He received treatment from the coaching staff, led by Alvaro Arbeloa, capitalising on a week with six days between fixtures.
Meanwhile, Mastantuono has put behind him the knock he sustained against Valencia last Sunday. Having recovered from the discomfort in his left thigh, he trained normally with the group in a session where Arbeloa eased the intensity following Tuesday’s physical exertion.
With injured players Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes, and Jude Bellingham still sidelined, the session blended strength work in the gym with tactical drills on the pitch, alongside ball exercises. Earlier, the squad held a video session to analyse Real Sociedad’s key strengths and address areas for improvement that Arbeloa has been working on since his arrival.
