Franco Mastantuono received treatment on Tuesday for a knock sustained against Valencia, with Real Madrid’s coaching staff taking a cautious approach to his recovery ahead of Saturday’s La Liga clash with Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Training resumed after a day off following Madrid’s 2-0 win at Mestalla, with Alvaro Arbeloa using the absence of a midweek fixture to increase physical workloads.
Starters undertook running drills and gym sessions under fitness coach Antonio Pintus, while a separate group, including Dani Carvajal, focused on small-sided games and tactical work.
Mastantuono joined injured players Eder Militao, Rodrygo Goes and Jude Bellingham in missing part of the session as they continued their individual rehabilitation programmes. The coaching staff remained cautious with all returning players to ensure full recovery ahead of the upcoming match.
Vinicius Junior trained at full intensity after serving a suspension against Valencia. Having benefited from two weeks without competitive action, the Brazilian winger is set to return to the starting XI, reinforcing his status as one of Arbeloa’s key attacking players.
