Barcelona trained on Sunday ahead of Monday’s meeting with Rayo Vallecano, with Gavi the standout absentee and virtually ruled out.
The Spain international, Gavi, remains sidelined from first-team training after suffering a blow to his right knee during the opening fixture against Elche. Frenkie de Jong was also absent from the session as he works his way back from his own knee problem.
Meanwhile, Marc Casado and Alvaro Cortes were also missing amid speculation that both could leave Barcelona in the coming days. Conversely, reserve winger Jesse Bisiwu and summer signing Dominik Livakovic took full part in group training, though neither will feature in the matchday squad as they are yet to be registered for the competition.
Reserve-team youngsters Hamza Abdelkarim, Brian Farinas and Eder Aller, who have all been regular fixtures in senior sessions this term, trained alongside the first team without issue.
