Pau Cubarsi, happy to be able to celebrate La Liga title with the Barca fans, reviewed his team’s end of the season just after the defeat against Villarreal (2-3).
Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi described it as “a spectacular dream” to celebrate his first domestic treble with the fans on Sunday at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
“I never imagined that I would be able to step on this pitch and, if all goes well, the Camp Nou next season. I want to keep working hard to give this club a lot of joy,” he said at the end of the match against Villarreal (2-3).
The 18-year-old centre-back praised Xavi Hernandez, who gave him the opportunity to make his debut with the first team, although he added that he also did his part: “I did everything I could to prove that I was ready”.
Despite the meaningless defeat against Villarreal – “although we have to be self-critical, because we wanted to win the two remaining games,” he lamented-, Cubarsi recalled that after winning La Liga it was time to celebrate, as he did on Friday in the bus parade through the streets of the city.
“You always have to be calm on the pitch, but off it, if you have to celebrate, you have to do it in the best way,” he stressed
