With the summer transfer window entering its final stretch, clubs across Europe are scrambling to finalise deals before the market closes. While the end of August traditionally marks the cut-off, this year’s deadlines have been pushed into September.
Because 31 August falls on a Sunday – with league fixtures scheduled that day – the major European leagues will shut their windows on Monday, 1 September.
The Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 will all close business at 08.00 CEST, while La Liga will keep its doors open until 11.59 CEST.
However, the action won’t stop there. Several other leagues will remain active well into September, meaning players could still be tempted away after the big leagues¡ cut-off. Portugal, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar are among those with extended deadlines.
