Although Fede Valverde was ruled out of the friendly against WSG Tirol, Real Madrid’s coaching staff are relaxed and believe the midfielder will be available to face Osasuna next Tuesday. Ferland Mendy was the notable presence in training.
Real Madrid returned to training on Wednesday at their Valdebebas training complex for a recovery session following their 0-4 thrashing of WSG Tirol on Tuesday, their only pre-season friendly. The session saw the return of Ferland Mendy, who worked alone on the pitch.
The French left-back continues to make progress in his recovery from the muscle tear he suffered towards the end of last season. Meanwhile, Camavinga, Endrick, and Bellingham undertook specific gym work due to their respective injuries.
According to sources within the club who spoke to ‘EFE’, Fede Valverde is expected to be available for the league opener against Osasuna. The Uruguayan, who missed Tuesday’s friendly due to tightness, completed specific ball work to avoid any risks.
Mastantuono to join on Thursday
Argentinian Franco Mastantuono was not present at the training session. Having signed from River Plate in June, he will be able to join Real Madrid’s setup from Thursday, August 14th, when he reaches the age of majority.
The session began, as per the club’s website, with gym work before the players moved onto the pitch for various ball exercises. The intensity was kept low given the match on Tuesday, concluding with a recovery plan in the pool and with physiotherapists.
Real Madrid will train again on Thursday morning behind closed doors at their training complex.
