Real Madrid have unveiled Xabi Alonso’s squad for Tuesday’s LaLiga 2025/26 opener against Osasuna, with Argentine prospect Franco Mastantuono making a surprise inclusion after just four days of training with the first team.
Fede Valverde also returns after recovering from a minor muscular overload, while injuries and suspension leave several key players unavailable.
Mastantuono, who recently turned 18, could make his La Liga debut in the team’s season curtain-raiser at the Santiago Bernabeu. Xabi Alonso will be without Jude Bellingham, Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga and Endrick due to injury, as well as Antonio Rudiger, who must serve a one-match suspension carried over from last season.
The squad also features youth-team midfielder Thiago Pitarch, while new signings Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras could make their first appearances in white alongside Mastantuono.
Valverde returns after missing the pre-season friendly against Tirol in Innsbruck as a precaution following heavy training loads. Compared with that squad, Rudiger is absent due to suspension, but the remainder of the squad remains largely unchanged.
