The fixture between RM Castilla and Racing Ferrol, originally scheduled for Sunday at 12.00 CET, has been officially postponed.
Rafael Alonso, the sole judge of non-professional competitions at the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), upheld Real Madrid’s request to reschedule the match after the club argued they were left without the minimum number of available players.
According to Madrid, their 22-man squad was reduced to just ten fit players: three sidelined through injury and nine away on international duty. Among the absentees are Loren Zuniga and, most notably, Franco Mastantuono — the Argentine starlet whose registration with the academy team sparked controversy earlier this summer.
In light of this, Alonso ruled in favour of Madrid and confirmed the postponement. Racing Ferrol, who immediately lodged appeals in an effort to keep the fixture, must now comply with the decision.
Both clubs have been given two working days to agree on a new date, with 8 January set as the deadline. Should no agreement be reached, the RFEF will determine the rescheduling unilaterally.
