Jose Bordalas hits back at Ferran Torres’ criticism of Getafe’s style of play. The Getafe boss deemed the forward’s comments about the Madrid side “offering nothing” and committing “too many fouls” to be “disrespectful”.
Getafe manager, Jose Bordalas, has responded to Barcelona’s Ferran Torres, who, after the ‘Blaugrana’s’ 3-0 victory, claimed that the Madrid-based team “offer nothing”, branding his comment “disrespectful”.
“It’s a very opportunistic opinion, considering the difference of €1 billion. Barcelona boast two players of the highest calibre in each position, capable of combining and launching counter-attacks. It’s disrespectful to make such a comment,” he lamented from the press room at the Johan Cruyff Stadium following his team’s 3-0 defeat.
The Alicante-born coach, still searching for his first away win against Barcelona, was responding to Ferran Torres’ post-match remarks, where he asserted that Getafe “sometimes offer nothing and try to commit too many fouls”.
Nevertheless, Bordalas acknowledged the superiority of the ‘Azulgrana’, stating that they “struck” his team in the first half and “were superior” throughout the match. “No complaints, as they are a magnificent team,” he added.
During the match, the coach protested some of the referee’s decisions, something he says “is part of the game”, as “there are few matches that aren’t high-tension”. “It’s a hard-fought match and it’s part of football,” he insisted.
