Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz spoke to the media ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup semi-final clash with Real Madrid and the meeting with his former teammate Kylian Mbappe.
Chelsea await in the final after knocking out Fluminense, one of the two best teams in Europe. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain will meet in a pulsating encounter in the other semi-final of the 2025 Club World Cup.
As well as the high level of expectation on the pitch, there is also the added bonus of Kylian Mbappe’s reunion with his former team after the French star joined Real Madrid.
Fabian Ruiz spoke to the media ahead of the game about the reunion with his former team-mate as well as explaining how they are approaching the game against the ‘Merengues’.
“We know it’s going to be a great and very difficult game. We’re coming here with a lot of desire, with a lot of ambition to play a great game and to win,” said the Spain international.
Speaking about the clash against his former team-mate Mbappe, the PSG midfielder said: “We know Kylian’s extraordinary qualities, we know how important he is for Madrid. He has given us a lot. It’s been a pleasure to play with him and I always wish him the best, except tomorrow when we play against him.”
“That decision is not ours, it’s Xabi Alonso’s. We don’t know who will play. They are a great team, they have great players and we know their quality,” Fabian said when asked if his former teammate would start.
Regarding the serious injury to Musiala, who suffered a fractured fibula as a result of a dislocated ankle, the Sevillian said it was “a difficult moment”. “An injury for any teammate is not good. I was involved in the incident, but it was not intentional. We wish Musiala a speedy recovery,” he said.
