French referees Francois Letexier and Clement Turpin have been appointed to take charge of Roma v Real Madrid and Real Betis v Porto this Wednesday.
The 37-year-old Letexier, an international referee since 2017, will be flanked at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico by assistant referees Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni. Bastien Dechepy will act as fourth official, with Dutch pair Dennis Higler and Pol van Boekel overseeing VAR duties.
This will be the seventh time he takes charge of a Real Madrid fixture. Under the Frenchman’s whistle, the Spanish giants have recorded three wins (2-0 against Chelsea, 4-2 against Napoli, and 0-1 against Benfica), one draw (3-3 against Manchester City), and two defeats (2-0 against Liverpool and 1-2 against Arsenal).
Meanwhile, he is set to referee Roma for the fifth time. The Italian side have registered two wins under Letexier—beating Brighton (4-0) and Porto (3-2)—alongside two defeats against Slavia Prague (2-0) and Bayer Leverkusen (0-2).
